Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I Start?

You can start anywhere along the three suggested routes I (see Map 1, Map 2, Map 3) which together resemble a Figure 8. The BikeWalk Williamsburg Hospitality Tent will be in Merchant’s Square at College Corner at the center of the Figure 8. Stop by to say hello and have your questions answered!

Ideally, you would walk out your front door and access one of the three routes. Short of that, just park close to where you’d like to walk and start walking in any direction.

When Do I Walk?

The three routes are officially open from 10 AM to 4 PM. Note that some of the food and beverage stops open at 12 Noon. See the Schedule of Activities for exact times and place of entertainment and other activities.

Is this Event a Fundraiser?

Registration is free but donations are encouraged to help fund BikeWalk Williamsburg   501 (c) (3) programs and the  Williamsburg Community Foundation . However, the primary goal of Mary’s Walk Williamsburg is simple - to get everyone out walking! There is no better exercise and a leisurely walk is the perfect way to discover hidden community gems right in your own backyard.

Is Registration Required?

Registration is required to get your Ticket which will entitle you to discounts on Sunday, May 4 at participating Sponsors.

How Safe is the Route?

Sidewalks, multiuse paths, crosswalks, and pedestrian Walk/Don’t Walk signals make up most of the Routes. In a few low traffic residential areas you may be on the street – in these instances walk single file and facing oncoming traffic. Remember, when crossing a street always “Look Both Ways!”

BikeWalk Williamsburg Walking Ambassadors will be at various points along the Routes to answer questions and promote intersection safety.

How Many People Attend Mary’s Walk Williamsburg?

This is the first year of a hoped-for annual event on the 1st Sunday in May.  A rough estimate is 175 walkers in 2025.
